Coaching PhilosophyHockey is a wonderful game that requires a specific set of skills, overwhelming creativity, and the utmost teamwork. It is a game where players have developed long-lasting friendships and connections that prove important into adulthood. The program is designed to be intense and demanding, yet fun and invigorating for players as they progress through their high school years. The game of hockey and the schedule (off-ice, on-ice, and rules) are used as tools to improve a young athlete as a player, a student, and most importantly, a teammate/person that can be depended on when needed by others. Our goal as coaches is to continue to provide the necessary materials and structure for Taunton Hockey players to achieve their personal, school, and athletic goals. At some point in our lives, we are told we cannot play the game competitively anymore. Some are lucky to play longer than others. In the end we all move on to different aspects of life, but the lessons learned through high school hockey will still resonate for a lifetime. |
