Heather, a sophomore captain, was brilliant all season for the Tigers this past winter ... excellent long distance and breaststroke swimmer ... won 16 times in dual meets and second four times ... qualified for states ... finished in fifth place in the 200 freestyle and breaststroke at the Hockomock League championship ... league all-star ... a multiple Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic.

Lorna Li, Taunton

Li, a senior captain, had a great farewell season for the Tigers this past winter ... solid 200 IM and breaststroke swimmer ... finished first 16 times and placed second four times during dual meets ... qualified for states .... took fifth in the 200 IM and seventh place in the breaststroke at the Hockomock League championship ... a league all-star ... multiple Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic ... plans to attend Wellesley College

Tim Luc, Taunton

Luc, an eighth grader, was an excellent four stroke swimmer for the Tigers this past winter ... came away with 17 first place finishes and three second place finishes in dual meets ... qualified for states ... placed third in the 200 IM and third in the 50 freestyle during the Hockomock League championship ... named a league all-star ... first-time Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic.

Erin Schrama, Taunton

Schrama, a captain, was one of the top female swimmers for the Tigers this past winter ... excellent four stroke performer ... placed first 19 times in dual meets and one second place finish ... qualified for states ... took third place in the 50 freestyle and third in the butterfly at the Hockomock League championship ... a league all-star ... multiple Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic

2016-17 Gazette Awards

​Coach of the Year: Patrick King, Taunton

King guided the Tiger boys and girls swim team to a remarkable 8-1 season each in his first year at the helm. Taunton finished in third and fifth place, respectively in the boys and girls levels. King coached youth teams in different sports for many years. Finished the year with seven of his players named a league all-star.

Gazette First Team All Stars

Jennie King, Taunton

King, a senior co-captain, set four school records in the 200 free and 500 free as well as the 200 medley and 400 free relay ... three-time Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic and Hockomock League all-star ... placed second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free at the Hockomock League championship ... finished in the top 16th at sectionals and states in 200 and 500 free ... ranked in the top 20 academically in her class ... plans to continue swimming while attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the fall.

Li, a junior, is a three-time Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic ... placed fifth in the butterfly during the Hockomock League championship ... sectional qualifier in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke ... state qualifier in the 200 medley and 200 free relays ... shares the school record in the 200 free relay ... multi-Hockomock All-Star.

Noah Moniz, Taunton

Moniz, a senior, was one of the top male swimmers for the Tigers ... broke school records in the 200 IM and backstroke ... finished second in 100 backstroke and fifth in 100 IM during the Hockomock League championship ...qualified for sectionals and states in 200 IM and 100 Back ... holds or shares eight school records, including individual and relay teams ... Hockomock League all-star and two-time Taunton Daily Gazette All-scholastic.

Mia Sinkiewicz, Taunton

Sinkiewicz, an 8th grader, turned a lot of heads for the Tigers ...holds the school records in five events — the 200 IM, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke along with two in the 200 medley and 400 free relays ... won the 200 IM and placed second in the backstroke during the Hockomock League championship ... finished in the top 13th in sectionals and states in 200 IM and 100 backstroke ... Hockomock League all-star and first-time Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic.

Caelan Schrama, Taunton

Schrama, a senior, had a sensational year for the Tigers ... broke the school record in 100 breaststroke ... placed fourth during the Hockomock League championship ... qualified for sectionals and states in 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly ... finished 10th in states in 100 butterfly ... holds or shares five school records in individual and relays ... Hockomock League all-star and three-time Taunton Daily Gazette All-scholastic.
