2026 Spring Track State Results

​Boys
  • Jaedan Thompson qualified for the finals in both the shot put and discus.
  • He earned a medal in the discus with a 7th-place finish.
  • In the shot put, he finished 9th, just one place shy of medaling.
Girls
  • Sophia Olinayan qualified for the finals in both the shot put and discus.
  • She finished 2nd in the discus.
  • She finished 3rd in the shot put, an impressive jump from her 6th-place seeding going into the meet.
  • Max Cassinelli becomes a Division I State Champion in the Javelin 117’ 11”
Max and Sophia have qualified for the All-State Meet, which will be held at Merrimack College on Thursday 6/4 and Friday 6/5.

Those are the pictures New Englands I placed second and broke the record with a 131’ 3” throw and I placed second in All states with 125’ 3” and first for D1 States with 117’ 11”

Fall Registration Opens:August 1st, 2026

Any student-athletes interested in participating in a sports program in the 2026–27 school year must have a parent/guardian register them before participating in each season. Beginning this school year, all athletic registration is completed through SchoolMint. If your student plans to participate in a fall sport, select the Register for Fall Sports button to complete your student's registration.

Before Registering

  1. Provide a copy of a physical exam to the THS Athletic Department.
    Physicals are valid for 13 months.

Athletes and parents must complete the NFHS Concussion Course annually in order to participate.

Athletic Fee

THS Athletic Fee is $150.00. This covers one sport season or all three sport seasons.

Fee is paid after teams are made.

Payments can be made online, or by cash/check to the Athletic Office.

​Tryouts for the athletic program are open to all students,
provided they meet the standards of academic eligibility
and physical/health qualifications.  Participation in our program is a
privilege granted to students who meet and maintain these standards. ​

In order to participate in a team activity, student athletes must be present in school on that specific day.
​Students must arrive to school before 8:15 a.m. and may not be dismissed before 11:15 a.m. in order to participate in a team sponsored activity on that day.

​Physicals must be updated with Athletic department every 13 months.
Physicals can expire during the course of an athletic season or school year.
​If your physical is dated before or on the date below,
you need to renew and resubmit it to the athletics department.

​Taunton High School at a Glance
Established in 1849, Taunton High School is a comprehensive 8-12, school-choice secondary school, housed in an educational complex which opened in 1975 and was renovated in 2011. Accredited by NEASC, the school is home to 2700 students, and 430 in the class of 2017. 16:1 Student to Faculty ratio. Offers 17 AP courses and 47 Career Enhancement Courses. Partnerships with Bridgewater State Univ., Bristol Community College, and UMass-Dartmouth enable Dual enrollment programs for students to earn college credit while attending high school. 80% graduated seniors develop post-secondary pursuits (79% 2 or 4 year colleges). Free PSAT and SAT Testing for all students. 55 Extracurricular clubs and 22 Varsity sports to take part in.
